Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, boasting abundant products and
fascinating landscapes, is rich in natural resources of hydraulic
power, minerals, subtropical plants and animals, marine products
and tourism. Its hydraulic power installation capacity can reach
17,510 megawatts, ranking the sixth and being the second largest
hydroelectric base in China . Known as "Home of Non-ferrous
Metals". Guangxi has discovered 89 varieties of minerals and
14 of whose reserves rank first in China . In guangxi, the forest
coverage reaches 39.26%, in which grows more than 30 varieties of
rare species of trees, such as cedar, nanmu, teak, ferrous mesua,
and over 700 varieties of fruit like pineapple, lychee, mango, longan,
etc. With a coastal beach of 190,000 hectares, more than 500 varieties
of sea fishes can be found in Guangxi and the region is deemed to
be a place of producing well-known pearl-"the South Pearl ".
Besides, the abundant and unique tourist resources make Guangxi
even more fascinating, featured by the cultural relics of Huashan
fresco in Ningming, the folk custom of the Zhuang minority's song
festival on March 3rd of Chinese Lunar Calendar, the beach scenery
of Beihai Silver Beach, and the natural landscapes of Guilin's scenery,
which is the second to none for its green hills, clear water, fantastic
caves and spectacular rocks.
