International Activities
Beijing has played host to numerous international conferences
since 1999, including for example the Universal Postal Union conference,
the World Architecture Convention and the meeting of the signatories
to the Montreal Convention on Protection of the Ozone Layer. In
1999, the International Conference Center in the Asian Game Village
was the venue of 12 conferences with participation of at least 1,000
people for each. And 30 meetings attended by a few hundred were
also held there.
According to definition of the International Conference Organization,
an "international conference" is one with no less than
four participating countries and 50 participants from foreign countries.
By such a measure, international conferences are being held in Beijing
almost every day. Conference facilities are constantly improving
in Beijing , and that explains why the city is being recognized
worldwide as an ideal venue for international conferences.

between Beijing and these cities have been going on in all fields:
political, economic, cultural, scientific and technological, sports,
healthcare, urban development, environmental protection, public
hygiene, urban greening, education and judicial.
